After a three-year pause, Bounce has re-entered Bengaluru’s mobility scene, introducing a redesigned scooter rental service tailored to gig workers and office commuters.
Branded as Bounce Daily, the platform has moved away from its earlier dockless system, where scooters could be picked up or left anywhere. Instead, the service now operates through six fixed hubs — Banaswadi, Hoodi, Yelahanka, HSR Layout, JP Nagar, and RR Nagar. Users can rent scooters for durations between three days and a month and must return them to the same hub.
CEO Vivekananda Hallekere shared that their primary goal is to serve delivery workers and professionals who rely heavily on two-wheelers. Of Bounce’s fleet of 3,000 electric scooters, 2,300 are based in Bengaluru. Daily rental rates start from ₹230–250 for longer bookings and around ₹285 for short-term use.
Each Bounce Infinity EV scooter includes tamper-resistant batteries, insurance coverage, and location tracking to improve security and prevent misuse.
Before the pandemic, Bounce was a pioneer of dockless mobility, with nearly 30,000 scooters transporting over 1.2 lakh daily riders. However, misuse, parking chaos, and operational gaps eventually led to suspension.
Hallekere added that the old model could return, but only with stricter verification, advanced technology, and community referrals.
Bounce is also exploring partnerships with dark stores and quick-commerce firms to offer doorstep rentals and plans to collaborate with local entrepreneurs in smaller towns.
