Bengaluru: Former chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party State President B S Yeddyurappa has accused Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of blackmailing him over the audiotape in which BSY is heard speaking to Sharanagouda, asking him to convince his father Nadagouda Patil, Gurmatkal Janata Dal (S) MLA, to resign.
Speaking to media on Friday, April 5, Yeddyurappa said that Kumaraswamy was blackmailing him rather than investigating the tapes and claimed that he had proof for it.
The audiotape in which Yeddyurappa is heard luring Sharanagouda was released by Kumaraswamy ahead of the budget session of the state government earlier this year.
Reportedly, the state government had considered constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the tapes. However, such an order has not yet been passed to SIT.
Yeddyurappa said that the BJP would secure 22 of the 28 seats and this would lead to the deterioration of the already strained relationship between the coalition partners Congress and JD(S). The former chief minister has predicted that the political situation of the state will change soon after Lok Sabha polls.
