Bengaluru: In a major blow to Karnataka BJP President B S Yedyurappa and M P Ananth Kumar, Congress on Monday released an explosive audio-video clip against the duo plotting against CM Siddaramaiah.

The conversation was recorded when BSY and MP Ananth Kumar were discussing at BJP Executive Meet in Bengaluru on February 12. The duo is seen talking against the CM not knowing mike was on.

In the video released by Congress leader Ugrappa at Vidhana Soudha BSY and Kumar were caught on camera, plotting against the CM. “We will accuse him, he will have to clarify. People might not believe he got kickbacks of Rs 1000 Crore but we will accuse him. Till elections they will have to keep clarifying”, Ananth Kumar and BSY are seen discussing.

Following the release of the CD, CM’s Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Govindaraju said that Siddaramaiah would sue BJP President B S Yeddyurappa. “I will file a defamation suit against BSY for levelling false charges against me,” CM is said to have stated.

This issue of Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar conspiring against CM Siddaramaiah and Congress High Command comes after BSY accused Siddaramaiah of giving kickbacks to High Command to save his CM post.

Congress minister Basavraj Rayareddy, after the release of CD said, “Yeddyurappa has looted the state and we have proof for it. For the sake of power, Yeddyurappa is making allegations against Siddaramaiah.”

It may be recalled that Yeddyurappa on Thursday, caused ripples in state politics by alleging that Siddaramaiah had paid Rs 1,000 Crore to Congress High Command to retain chief minister’s post. On Sunday, Yeddyurappa made one more charge of Rs 65 Crore kickbacks from the promoters of the steel flyover project. He had claimed that he was making this charge based on the information found in a diary recovered by Enforcement Directorate(ED) and Income Tax (I-T) officials during a recent raid on the residence and office of MLC Govindaraju, a close confidant of Siddaramaiah. “According to the notings found in the diary, a Rs 150 Crore commission deal has been struck in the steel flyover project, of which Rs 65 Crore has already been paid through Siddaramaiah’s trusted lieutenants,” Yeddyurappa had alleged.

However, the BJP state president had declined to produce any documents to substantiate his charges and said that it would be revealed at an appropriate time.
