Bengaluru: Bowing to the pressure from BJP senior leaders, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday changed the presidents of three district units of the party. The senior leaders had set a March 15 deadline for modifying the office-bearers’ list.
The changes were effected with respect to Belagavi, Ballari and Kodagu districts. According to reliable sources, Yeddyurappa is likely to withdraw the show-cause notices issued to a few prominent party workers in a day or two as part of the efforts to break the ice with party old guards.
It may be recalled that some old-time workers of the party, including two MLCs, had on Monday publicly expressed displeasure over the delay in revising the office-bearers’ list and had set a deadline of March 15 to complete the process.
