In a disturbing incident reported from Bengaluru, an unknown man sexually harassed a woman in the BTM Layout area on Thursday before swiftly fleeing the scene. The act, captured on a nearby CCTV camera, has sparked concern among residents and social media users.

The surveillance footage shows a deserted, dimly lit lane lined with parked two-wheelers. Two women can be seen walking side by side when a man suddenly approaches them from behind. Without warning, he appears to inappropriately touch one of the women and immediately runs away.

Visibly shaken, the women continue walking, seemingly stunned by what had just transpired. The incident has not yet been reported by the victim, but the footage has drawn public attention after circulating online.

Bengaluru police have confirmed they are aware of the episode and are monitoring the situation. Though no official complaint has been lodged so far, law enforcement has indicated that it will take suo motu action. Authorities plan to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the unidentified offender if the woman chooses not to file a complaint.

Efforts are currently underway to identify the accused using CCTV footage and other available leads. The police have urged the victim or any witnesses to step forward and assist in the investigation.

Such cases continue to highlight the need for improved safety measures in urban spaces, especially in low-visibility and poorly monitored areas.
