Bengaluru: Bangalore University (BU) registrar B K Ravi announced that, for the time being, the Saraswati and Buddha idols will be installed together at the entrance of the University.
During a meeting of the University syndicate held under the chairmanship of VC K R Venugopal on Wednesday, May 8, it was decided that the Saraswathi idol will be kept in its original place and the Buddha idol will be kept near it. Experts’ advice will be taken to ensure that both the idols will not pose any problem fro the University building.
“We will build a separate pedestal to keep the Buddha statue in the coming days,” informed B K Ravi.
At the meeting, it was also decided to install both the idols simultaneously after the construction of the pedestal.
They also appealed to all the students, staff and others to maintain discipline in the University campus.
