Bengaluru: Bangalore University Vice Chancellor K R Venugopal submitted a report to the Governor regarding the recent Buddha-Saraswati statue row which created tension in the university campus.
According to sources, Venugopal sent the report to the Governor’s office along with the clippings of the CCTV footage.
If the sources are to be believed, the report has been sent to the city police commissioner and state higher education department office as well.
“In this report, two professors have been blamed for instigating the students. The state government is likely to initiate disciplinary action against them,” said sources in the state higher education department.
As of now, the controversy has been resolved by placing both the Buddha and Saraswati statues together.
Meanwhile, B C Mylarappa, chairman of the sociology department has requested the state government not to initiate action based on mere CCTV footage.
