Bengaluru: Minister for Bengaluru Development K J George on Monday met a six-member delegation from ISA West Consortium, a Bulgarian Infrastructure company and discussed in detail with regard to construction of tunnels in the city.
Earlier, in the day the delegation members, accompanied by senior government officials went around some places in the city on a site visit. They also traveled in the Metro Rail for some distance.
The minister evinced keen interest of the company’s expertise with regard to tunnel construction and discussed the possibilities of having tunnel from Hebbal to the city covering a distance of about six kilometres. The delegation is expected to prepare a feasibility report in this regard.
Bengaluru Mayor G Padmavathi, Deputy Mayor Ananda, Congress Party leader in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Council Mohammed Rizwan Nawab, Urban Development Additional Chief Secretary Mahendra Jain, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Managing Director Pradeep Singh Karola, Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) Engineer Member P N Nayak and others were present during the meeting.
