The charred remains of a 13-year-old boy, previously reported missing, were discovered in an isolated spot off Kaggalipura Road in Bengaluru.

The victim, Nishchith A, was a student in Class 8 at Christ School.

On Wednesday around 5 p.m., he left his home on Arekere 80 Feet Road to attend a tuition class but failed to return, according to police officials.

His father, JC Achit, who serves as an assistant professor at a private institution, filed a missing person complaint after the child remained untraceable by 7:30 p.m.

When contacted, the tuition teacher informed the family that Nishchith had departed from the class on time.

In their search, Nishchith’s parents located his bicycle abandoned near the Arekere family park.

Shortly afterward, they received a threatening call from an unidentified number demanding a ransom of ₹5 lakh.

Based on this development, the Hulimavu police registered a case of kidnapping and initiated an investigation.

Law enforcement teams started tracking the location of the anonymous caller and conducted an extensive search operation.

Tragically, the boy’s burnt body was recovered during the search on Thursday.

Authorities have confirmed that an in-depth investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible for the crime.
