To eliminate confusion surrounding water connection charges for apartments, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will soon introduce a model fee calculator on its website. This tool is designed to help residents easily estimate their connection costs, ensuring transparency and greater clarity, according to BWSSB Chairman Ram Prasat Manohar.

Manohar shared that apartment residents with Cauvery water connections will be guaranteed a daily supply of 200 liters of drinking water per household. Speaking at a meeting organized by the Bangalore Apartment Federation on Friday, he also announced the formation of a three-member committee, led by the Chief Engineer, to address complaints regarding water tariffs. This committee will thoroughly review grievances and provide prompt resolutions.

With the launch of the Cauvery Phase 5 project, BWSSB now has sufficient water resources and is working to distribute supplies across Bengaluru in a phased approach. The board has already visited several apartments in Bengaluru East to address concerns and is working closely with the Bangalore Apartment Federation to prevent water shortages.

“Through 258 Cauvery Connection Campaigns, over 21,000 connections have been established. Meetings are being held in all zones to ensure maximum resident participation,” he added.
