Bengaluru: The world famous Hampi Utsav may be postponed due to the code of conduct that will be in place owing to the bypolls.
According to the authorities, as per the original schedule, Hampi Utsav was supposed to be between November 3 to 5, but due to the election code of conduct, the district administration is forced to postpone the Hampi Utsav.
The by-election is necessitated following the resignation of BJP MP B Sreeramulu to the MP post after getting elected to the state assembly.
“Every year thousands of foreigners visit the utsav. Hence, postponing it will have an adverse effect on the tourism activities. So we will talk to the election commission authorities before taking any decision,” said sources in the state government.
