Bengaluru: In the 2018 State Assembly election, B. Y. Vijayendra, younger son of former Chief Minister (CM) B. S. Yediyurappa (BSY) was all set to contest from Varuna Constituency in Mysuru against Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah. He had made all the groundwork sending shock waves to Siddu camp. However, at the last minute, BJP denied a ticket to him.
But now Vijayendra who is serving the BJP as the State Vice-President has decided to plunge into the active politics. On late evening Saturday November 27, he made his stand clear that he is contesting in the 2023 State Assembly election.
“It is for the Party to decide from which constituency I should contest. However, it is sure that I am contesting,” he said. He also added that the BJP will win in the 15 MLC constituencies.
His statement indicates that Former CM BSY still holds a clout in the party affairs of the State.
