Bengaluru: It seems the Congress high command has given a green signal for the much-delayed and much-awaited State Cabinet expansion on Saturday or Monday.
According to reliable sources, the Congress high command has agreed with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s proposal to fill up three vacancies with MLCs H.M. Revanna and Ramappa Thimmapur and MLA K Shadkshari.
It is believed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has discussed about the portfolios Forest for H.M. Revanna, Excise for Ramappa Thimmapur and Cooperation for Shadkshari with the Congress high command.
The chief minister has decided to expand the Cabinet by filling up the existing vacancies after discussing with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi.
According to reliable sources, the chief minister has decided to allocate home portfolio to Minister for Forest Ramanath Rai. The portfolio of home remains vacant after Dr G Parameshwara quit as home minister to continue as the president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.
Meanwhile, Revanna told media persons that he has not received by any information from the chief minister on joining the Cabinet.
