Bengaluru: The session is almost close to getting over and a sense of rigorous political activities are on in the power corridors as there are all possibilities of CM Siddaramaiah going in for a cabinet reshuffle.Meanwhile, it is said that leaders from Karnataka are paying short visits to New Delhi to make sure that they leave no stone unturned to get a place in the cabinet this time.

As of now, there are three posts vacant in the cabinet, including the post of the Home Minister, which is vacant after Dr G Parameshwar resigned.

However, the CM is yet to accept the resignation. But, knowing it fully well that it is the High Command who will have the last say, the aspirants in the Congress house are turning towards Delhi to try their luck.

It is said that former minister Motamma and Humnabad MLA Rajasehkar Patil have made rounds to Delhi to impress upon influential senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge.

HM Revanna, V S Ugrappa, Shivamurthy Nayak, Shadakshari, M P Narendra Swamy, K N Rajanna among others are some of the aspirants for ministerial berth this time.

However, while the aspirants are doing their bit, another news that is making rounds in the Congress house is that the High Command is not keen on reshuffle because it does not want to get into firefighting mode after the reshuffle.

The wounds of the last cabinet reshuffle are still fresh and it is said that the High Command does not want to get into any awkward situation in the state.

All in all, Siddaramaiah is running into an acid test all over again. He has retained certain portfolios in his own hands and now the decision whether to go ahead with the reshuffle or simply play safe specially when the Assembly polls are fast approaching has become a major question for him. But, the fact is that an important portfolio like that of the Home Minister cannot be left vacant for long. The CM’s next move is something to be waited and watched for.

It is also said that Siddaramaiah and Parameshwar had held a secret meeting with President of India Pranab Mukherjee with regard to political developments in the state.
