Bengaluru: Three suspected men have been detained in the Bengaluru gang rape as per the latest updates. The police sources indicate that they have held three men and are questioning them. More details are awaited.

Earlier Report

A 23-year-old call centre employee was abducted and raped inside a mini bus in Bengaluru on Saturday night. Additional commissioner of police P Harishekaran said that they are close to nabbing two of the three absconding men.

The incident took place at 9.45 pm when the victim was allegedly returning from a party. She was then abducted by three men who came in a mini bus while she was waiting at the Madiwala bus stop.

The bus stop is only a few kilometres away from Kormangala, one of the city’s main party districts also known to have a large police presence. But there was no police patrol deployed near the bus stop. The woman was allegedly dragged into the mini bus and screamed for help but there was nobody around.

Police sources said the three men took turns to rape her at knifepoint as one of them drove around some desolate parts of the city. They finally dropped her off at the same point where she was abducted and fled.

The badly injured woman reached the hospital with the help of a friend.
