Bengaluru: Captain P Manivannan, who was transferred on Monday night without a new posting, has now been posted as the secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and fisheries.

He was serving in the labour and information department. Manivannan is likely to take charge today.

What has surprised many is a statement by KPCC President DK Shivakumar, who had earlier welcomed the state government’s decision to transfer Manivannan from the labour department alleging that the department failed to protect the interests of the labourers.

On Tuesday, #Manivannan was trending on the twitter for sometime with many batting for cancellation of his transfer order.

Meanwhile, the Covid 19 warriors launched an online petition through change.org titled ‘We want Captain Manivannan back!!!’. In one day over 3,000 persons signed the petition.

The senior IAS officer was transfered from Labour department couple of days ago without giving a new posting. This move of the BSY government had raged many.
