Bengaluru: “Cardiac arrest contributes to about 25 percent of lifestyle related deaths,” said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

CM HDK was speaking after inaugurating the third edition of the exhibition organised by the Society of Minimal Invasive Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons of India on September 8 at Hotel ITC Grandia.

“I too had suffered a heart blood vessel issue for which I was treated by Dr. Sathyaki Nambala. The state has a number of quality cardiac treatment hospitals among which the Jayadeva Hospital is one,” he said.

He added, “In 1960, the percentage of people affected by heart related diseases was just 2 percent. But in the current context, it is astonishing to see even a person aged 40 is prone to heart disease.”

Kumaraswamy said, “People with such conditions must get economical treatment of the best quality and the government is working on it.”

“An attempt to destabilise the government'”
Answering the queries by media on the I-T raid on D K Shivakumar, CM HDK said, “Vained attempts are on to destabilise the present government. Let’s wait and watch where the state politics will head to.”

“Congress has shown its retaliation against the fuel hike, which has created distress among the commoners and the coalition government supports the bandh which will be held on September 10,” he added.

Regarding news of Sa Ra Mahesh having been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting Dasara festival, CM Kumaraswamy said, “G T Devegowda is the District In-Charge Minister for Mysuru and the Dasara programmes will be initiated by him.”
