Bengaluru: A team of CBI officials led by SP Kiran began the investigation into the phone tapping case. The investigating team is currently staying at the CBI’s guest house in the city.
According to sources, the team has already completed the preliminary investigation into the matter.
The team has been divided into two, one of which has already met a couple of senior IPS officers and collected the necessary information.
Sources said that the CBI team is likely to interrogate a senior IPS officer who allegedly used the CCB technical office to carry out the phone tapping.
“Reports that the police tapped the phone conversation of two prominent seers of the state has made this entire episode more serious. CCTV footage of the CCB is expected to play a major role in the investigation,” explained an officer privy to the developments.
