Bengaluru: Just a few hours after Congress candidate VS Ugrappa ending 14 years exile of the Congress in the Ballari Lok Sabha seat by defeating BJP candidate, J Shanta, sister of BJP strongman B Sreeramalu, the JDS-Congress coalition decided to target suspended BJP leader and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy. A day before the second anniversary of the demonetisation, the CCB police detained three close associates of the Gali Janardhana Reddy in a case pertaining to the illegal transportation of the demonetised currencies.
According to the sources, the CCB teams are carrying out raids in at least 10 places including Ballari, Bengaluru, Molakalmuru. “In Bengaluru city, Parijata apartment, the residence of Gali Janardhana Reddy is also under the seize of the CCB police,” said sources. However, the CCB police have not confirmed the developments.
Gali Janardhana Reddy and his associates are also not reachable. If sources in the state intelligence department are to be believed, Reddy had fled to Telangana.
