Reportedly, the raid was conducted by the CCB officials on Friday on the Chef Regency Inn in Domlur, where they recovered Rs 1.04 lakh in cash. They also rescued 74 women, who were illegally employed by the bar’s management and were allegedly being used to entertain the patrons.

The main accused in the case have been identified as Dinesh P (42), Dinesh Kumar (41), Riyazuddin (52), Prakash Dutt Joshi (23), and Hegya Raj Joshi (23).

The raid, carried out under the direction of Joint Police Commissioner B Ravikanthe Gowda, was part of the drive by newly appointed Police Commissioner Alok Kumar, who has been trying to weed out those restaurants and pubs which are attempting to bypass the law. As per his orders, action is to be taken against illegal activities, including gambling, dance bars and illegal chit funds.

Allegedly, the customers at the bar were permitted by the management to shower the women with money and those who paid more were even allowed to dance with them, according to the police.

Reportedly, some of the women are locals whereas some others are from other states. They were allegedly lured with the promise of good jobs.
