Bengaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) recorded the statement of Vidvat L. on Saturday, two weeks after he was assaulted by Mohammed Nalapad Haris and his associates at a restaurant in Bengaluru.
Vidvat reportedly told the police that he felt like he was going to die when the gang assaulted him. He said he still feels frightened by the incident. The CCB team led by inspector Ashwath Gowda spoke to Vidvat at Mallya Hospital for over two hours.
“Vidvat’s statement was no different from the complaint, which was filed by his friend, Praveen, on February 18. Vidvat too said that Mohammed Nalapad and his friends beat him up mercilessly,” a senior CCB official said.
The police officer said they could not establish any old rivalry between the victim and accused persons.
