New Delhi/Bengaluru: The Union Home Ministry, on April 9 morning, directed all the states to take all precautions to maintain law and order as a few groups opposing caste-based reservation have called for “Bharath Bandh” on April 10.

According to sources, the Home Ministry directive comes on the backdrop of an anonymous post spreading on WhatsApp and other social media, which reads “Another Bharath Bundh will be held on April 10.”

It may be recalled that a few Dalit organisations had called for Bharath Bandh on April 2, which had resulted in rampant violence and loss of the assets.

However, various organisations in Bhilwara District Administration of Rajasthan, which was at the epicentre of violence on April 2, have already declared that they are not supporting any bandh call.

Other organisations such as Karni Sena, Jat Samaj Seva Samsthan and Akhil Narathiya Gurjar Mahasabha have also declared that they will not support the bandh call.
