Bengaluru: ‘Cold War’ between political parties during the time of elections is a common phenomenon, but that was not in the case of the Bharatiya Janata Party as former deputy chief minister R Ashok and former minister V Somanna had a battle of words, here on Sunday, March 17.
Former union minister Ananth Kumar’s wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, who is expected to contest from Bengaluru North constituency had met Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji of Suttur Mutt to take blessings during which R Ashok and Somanna too had accompanied her.
During the meet, Somanna said that this time the party has said that the election battle would be fought under the guidance of ‘Chakravarthy’ (ruler), pointing at Ashok.
Enraged by the statement, Ashok replied, “Each and every person in the party uses me, and when something goes wrong, blame is on my head”
Understanding that the situation might worsen, Somanna immediately tried to cool down the situation by saying, “Ashok is a kind-hearted person”.
Meanwhile, Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and other party workers were a little embarrassed by the ‘fight’ between two leaders in front of Suttur seer.
