Bengaluru: The Bengaluru District administration has fixed October 22 to issue notices to 69 property owners, including Kannada film actor Darshan and former minister Shamanur Shivashankarappa to clear the encroachment of government land.
Speaking to a private TV channel, V Shankar, Deputy Commissioner, Bengaluru Urban District, said the Special Commissioner would issue notice to 69 property owners, including Kannada film actor Darshan, on Saturday informing them about the government’s decision to recover the encroached land. “The Special Commissioner will issue notices to these property owners. A notice board will be put up stating the land belongs to the government,” Shankar said.
The district administration has also decided to file criminal cases against the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials for helping these property owners, especially the developers of Ideal Homes Layout, to encroach storm water drain in Raja Rajeswari Nagar zone in the city.
The district administration would take seven acres and 31 guntas of land, including Darshan’s house at the Ideal Homes Layout and R Chennabadsappa Hospital in Raja Rajeswari Nagar, under its control.
