Bengaluru: Independent corporator Chandrappa Reddy representing Konena Agrahara ward has been elected chairman of standing committee on staff and administrative reforms.

The election for the chairman’s post held at Mayor’s chamber on Thursday. With no other candidate was in the fray, Mayor Padmavathi has declared Chandrappa Reddy as the chairman of standing committee on staff and administrative reforms.

It may be recalled that elections to the 11 standing committees were held on October 20 but the election to the standing committee on staff and administrative reforms got postponed due to lack of consensus between two independent corporators – Chandrappa Reddy and Mujahid Pasha. Both of them were chairmen of standing committees – while Chandrappa Reddy (committee on ward-level works), Mujahid Pasha (committee on health) – last year but they wanted to become chairmen again this year. With both filing nominations, the election for the standing committee on staff and administrative reforms was postponed.
