The Bengaluru police are poised to file the charge sheet in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, which occurred on June 9 in Sumanahalli, western Bengaluru. The charge sheet is expected to be submitted either on Wednesday or Thursday, marking a significant step forward in the case.
High-Profile Arrests
The case has garnered considerable attention due to the involvement of Kannada film industry figures. Among those arrested are Kannada A-lister Darshan, his close associate Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others, who have been accused of orchestrating and carrying out the murder.
During his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, City Police Commissioner B Dayananda provided an update on the status of the investigation. “The investigations have been completed,” Dayananda stated, confirming that all essential aspects of the case have been thoroughly examined.
Charge Sheet Scrutiny and Evidence
Commissioner Dayananda noted that the charge sheet has undergone scrutiny by the special public prosecutor, who has made several observations. “The special public prosecutor has completed the scrutiny of the charge sheet and made some observations, which are being complied with. The charge sheet will be submitted in a day or two,” he explained.
He also emphasized that the police have gathered substantial evidence to support the case. “We have received all reports from the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) in Bengaluru. Some reports have yet to come from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad,” Dayananda added, indicating that the case is being backed by strong forensic evidence.
The upcoming filing of the charge sheet is expected to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding Renukaswamy’s murder and the alleged involvement of those arrested. The case has already drawn widespread public and media interest due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved.
