Bengaluru: As Karnataka State Chief Secretary K Rathnaprabha will retire on March 31, a sense of curiosity is building up about the next probable Chief Secretary.
The State Government has recommended the Department of Personnel and Training of the Union government to extend the service of Rathnaprabha for three months. The Department of Personnel and Training can approve the recommendation of the state but with approval of the Election Commission.
However, the state has not received any direction from DOPT until Wednesday evening.There will be holidays for the Central government offices from Thursday to Sunday.
If there is no direction from the DoPT within 3 pm, Chief Secretary K Rathnaprabha has to handover the in-charge responsibility to Additional Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar and relieve herself from duties, said the sources.
