Bengaluru: Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka (GoK) TM Vijay Bhaskar has directed all the district administrations to ban carrying of the passengers in the goods vehicles. He directed all the DCs to take appropriate action in this regard.
His directions come amid reports that in many parts of the state goods vehicles are used to ferry the passengers, especially in the remote places. In most part of the state, even today goods vehicles are hired to ferry the people at the time of marriages and functions.
The Chief Secretary has directed all the district administrations to ensure enough number of buses for those areas where people depend upon the goods vehicles.
With the new academic year around the corner, the CS has also directed the district administrations to ensure that schools vehicles are fit for the travel of the students and the schools implement all the directions issued by the education department.
He also advised the DCs to arrange enough numbers of KSRTC or BMTC buses to meet the demands of the students.
