Bengaluru: With less than two months to go for the Lok Sabha election 2019, the political activities are heating up across the state. As expected it is Mandya and Hassan Lok Sabha constituencies, which are followed closely where ruling coalition partners- the JDS and the Congress are going to lock horns.
If sources in the Congress district unit are to be believed, megastar Chiranjeevi, Congress leader from Andhra and Superstar Rajanikanth have extended their support to the political ‘arangetram’ of actress Sumalata Ambareesh as Congress candidate from Mandya constituency. They also assured the support in the event of Sumalata’s contest as an independent candidate.
According to the sources in the Congress, both the leaders called Sumalata on Tuesday night and extended their support. “They have also assured her of campaigning extensively in the constituency if she contests,” said sources.
Meanwhile, the Congress sources are abuzz with the rumours that Challenging star Darshan has already informed the Congress state leaders that he is ready to lead Sumalata’s campaign if the party gives a ticket to her. “Recently, Darshan who met former CM Siddaramaiah at Suttur in Mysuru district made this offer,” said a leader.
