Chitradurga: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday October 23 said that it is the responsibility of lawmakers to formulate laws with more clarity. Speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebration of Hosadurga court, he said that judges and advocates must be able to understand the relevance of court rulings.
He said that numerous Karnataka-related issues involving water conflicts have been pending in tribunals for two to three decades without being resolved. Wasted water resources are the outcome of this. He asserted that the government, judges, and judiciary will face problems if no changes are made.
Special courts and fast-track courts are formed with the use of advanced technology. However, there is a requirement that litigants receive proper legal advice and support at the grassroots level, he said.
Speaking further he said that the number of disputes in society is rising, and people are taking longer to obtain justice, which is hindering the progress of the country. “Ensuring justice in the current social system is quite challenging. However, India’s legal system is the best and has to be strengthened. He emphasised that the judiciary also needs reforms,” he added.
