Chitradurga: Stating that there is no need to call for Karnataka bandh, Kannada and Culture, Energy Minister V. Sunil Kumar requested Kannada organisations and institutions to drop the bandh slated to be held on Friday December 31.
Speaking to mediapersons here the Minister said that the Government has taken needed action against the perpetrators. Our government does not tolerate unruly behaviour as our priority to save our language has been through upholding literature, and culture. The government will take action against those who speak against Kannada language, he emphasised.
Responding to Siddaramaiah’s statement that if the Congress came to power, the Anti-Conversion Act will be withdrawn, Sunil said that Siddaramaiah was in a state of delusion. “What message does Siddaramaiah wants to send through opposition of Anti-Conversion Bill, Cow Slaughter, and Tipu Jayanti. The people of the State are observing all this, and can tell honesty from a lie, he added.
Sunil said that the law too says forceful conversion or conversion through inducement is wrong. Then what is so wrong with Anti-Conversion Bill, he questioned adding that Siddaramaiah is misleading people.
