Chitradurga: Member of Parliament and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel has mocked at veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge calling him a “switched off bulb”.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, February 9 he said, “Mallikarjun Kharge had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ‘zero watt bulb’ who is not able to light up people’s lives. I would like to say to Kharge that PM Modi is like a ‘1000 watt halogen bulb’ who is toiling hard for the upliftment of the people. Kharge is like a ‘switched off bulb’ and one who is himself in darkness.”

“Look at his (Kharge) fate. Being such a senior leader and working so hard for the Congress party, he could not even manage to become a Rajya Sabha member. The Congress party leaders are not even attempting to bring him up,” he added.

Criticizing the Janata Dal (Secular) and its supremo H D Deve Gowda, Kateel said, “The JD(S) is the second edition of the Congress. The party which hinders to shout ‘Bharath Mata Ki Jai’ and hoist the tricolour, is trying to bring a rift between the Hindus and Muslims. HDD has acknowledged the principles of the Congress.”

Meanwhile, he also mocked Karnataka Assembly Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and said that his condition was such that he had to beg in front of the Congress high command to retain his post as CLP leader.
