Church street blast case: Police to interrogate Patna blast accused

Bengaluru: Continuing investigations into the Church Street blast case, the city police have secured the custody of two suspected members of Indian Mujahideen, who were arrested in Patna in connection with Hunkar Rally blast case which occurred at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on October 2013.

The city police who are probing all angles are now zeroing in on the IM module and obtain the body warrant of two suspects to get possible leads from them.

On 27 October 2013, a series of bomb blasts rocked Patna at a massive election related “Hunkar’ rally for BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi taking the life of six people. The two accused in the case are now wanted by Bengaluru police.

The police have analyzed the CCTV footage, call record details and other incidental evidences obtained from the scene of crime, but failed to find any leads in the investigations.

Several special teams are formed and they are investigating in all angles to get any possible leads.

A senior police officer said that the police have not got any concrete information on the perpetrators of the blast, but investigations are on.

It may be recalled that an IED exploded outside a busy restaurant on December 28 night, killing one woman and injuring one other near Church Street in Bengaluru.
