City police reject 44 lakh applications seeking emergency passes

Bengaluru: The city police rejected a whooping 44 lakh applications submitted by the city residents seeking emergency passes.

At the same time 1.87 lakh passes are issued.

According to city police commissioner Bhaskar Rao, the validity of these passes have been extended till April 20 following the state government directions.

“The passes shall be utilised only for the specified purposes. If any one is found roaming without any reason, such persons will be detained and sent to jail,” he warned.

He also stated that for the medical emergencies, passes are issued at the local police stations.

Rao informed that he has directed his police staff to act in a humane manner while dealing with people.
