Bengaluru: After three murders were committed by those under the influence of drugs, the city police have started a crackdown against drug addicts. As per the plan, if police find anyone indulging in criminal activities while under the influence of drugs, such people will be arrested under the NDPS Act of 1985.
According to sources in the city police, in the past week, three innocent persons were murdered by youth who were under the influence of drugs. “It has, therefore, been decided to start a crackdown on drug addicts,” informed a senior police officer.
According to the police, many youth start attacking innocent people after sundown while under the influence of drugs. “They attack for no reason. Many have tried to steal or rob people for money to buy more drugs,” he informed.
“So far, we were only targetting drug suppliers but henceforth, even the drug addicts will be arrested,” he added.
