Bengaluru: Unknown miscreants hacked the Twitter handle of the Jayanagar traffic police and ACP, South East Traffic. The incident is reported to have occurred on Friday, September 27 night.

According to police sources, the hackers first removed the traffic police symbol and then posted promotional advertisements. The followers of the two accounts immediately alerted the traffic and cybercrime police.

The police have informed that, following the incident, all the Twitter handle operators were asked to review the security of the accounts. As these accounts have still not been verified (given the blue tick mark) by Twitter, the police have not yet issued any statements regarding the incident.
