Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Rakesh, who is undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis at Antwerp University Hospital, Brussels, is in a very serious condition according to some doctors at the hospital.
The CM’s office had given the statement that Rakesh is recovering and responding to the treatment. When media contacted the hospital through an Indian residing nearby the city, one of the doctors attending Rakesh told that he would not divulge any details, but his condition is critical.
Doctors also informed that Rakesh is on ventilator and they would comment about his condition at the end of 48-hour observation period.
Earlier, according to the CM’s office, doctors had told members of the family that infection was contained after the treatment commenced. Quoting doctors’ opinion, the CM’s office said infection did not spread to other parts, regarded as a positive sign.
Rakesh had been to Belgium on a tour with his four other friends Shoiab, Keshav, Rohan and Chethan.
