Kolar: A day after Karnataka Law Minister JC Madhuswamy lost his cool and verbally abused a local woman leader on video, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that it was ‘unbecoming’ of a minister to behave like that.
Madhuswamy, who had called a woman ‘rascal’ on camera, later on justified his behaviour saying that he was provoked by the ‘bad behaviour’ of the lady.
Talking about the same, BSY said that he has already warned Madhuswamy about the same. “Such language against a woman is unforgivable. I wil personally talk to the lady. Stern action will be taken if such episodes happen again,” said the CM.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday, Madhuswamy, who is the Minister for Minor Irrigation was seen having a talk with district president of Karnataka Farmers Association of Kolar, Nalini.
As per a video clipping aired by local television channels, when Nalin persistently talks about the local problems and submits a memorandum for removing encroachment on a lake, Madhuswamy gets raged and says, “Shut up, you rascal”.
The incident took place when the minister was inspecting a project in Kolar, around 65 km from Bengaluru. In the clip he is also heard saying that she can only talk about the grievances, but she cannot dictate of command.
This does not end here. When Nalini questions the Minister’s behaviour, the police plunge into action and ask her to leave the place.
