Bengaluru: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has suggested appointing around 20 legislators to various state corporations and boards to strengthen the organization of the state government.
On Friday, Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar held discussions for approximately four hours. It has been decided to allocate the chairmanship positions of these strategic corporations and boards to 15 to 20 legislators. The official order is expected to be issued within a week.
AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary K.C. Venugopal have also held discussions on this matter, and they have asked Siddaramaiah and AICC General Secretary in charge of the state Congress, Randeep Singh Surjewala, to finalize the appointments. However, Surjewala is currently involved in campaigning for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. The list of appointments to corporations and boards is likely to be announced after discussions with them.
