Bengaluru: The second phase of Namma Metro, under the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited, began its rail service with six compartments. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy flagged off the brand new compartments on Thursday, October 4.
The metro had its first trip from Majestic Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station to Baiyappanahalli at 11:44 AM.
Meantime, CM HDK also inaugurated the brand new footpath which connects the KSRTC bus stand and the BMTC bus stand from Majestic.
CM travels in Metro
As the CM had to attend the Bengaluru International Exhibition programme, he travelled by the new Metro rail from Majestic Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station to Nagasandra Metro Station.
Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar, Transport Minister D C Thammanna, Mayor Gangambika, KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao and Deputy Mayor Ramila Umashankar were present.
