Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has finally agreed to campaign for the JDS’ alliance partner, Congress in the Chincholi and Kundagol by-elections.
According to sources in the Congress, HDK agreed to campaign on May 13 and 14 in these two constituencies after an appeal by KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara.
Sources added that CM HDK will campaign for an entire day in both the constituencies. “As per the plan, he will hold a campaign in Chincholi on May 13 and Kundagol on May 14. He will hold a roadshow after which there will be rallies in several hobli centres,” said a Congress leader.
The results of both the constituencies are important for the survival of the coalition government as the JDS and Congress have a thin majority in the state Legislative Assembly over the BJP. If the Congress loses in any of the constituencies, it may demoralise the alliance.
