Bengaluru: With the idea of ensuring that the JDS and the Congress MLAs do not ditch their respective parties in the event of Modi’s return to power at the Centre, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy decided to hold an all-MLAs meeting before May 23.
The Lok Sabha election results will be announced on May 23.
According to sources, CM Kumaraswamy sent a proposal in this regard to KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and former CM Siddaramaiah, who is the chairman of the JDS-Congress coordination committee.
“The CM’s plan is to listen to all the MLAs of both the parties and fulfil their demands on the transfers and developmental works as a pre-emptive move to stop the BJP from luring them,” said a JDS leader.
“The meeting is likely to be convened on May 22,” he added.
“CM HDK discussed the future of the coalition government with his father, H D Devegowda in detail at the time of their resort stay in Kaup,” he explained.
