Bengaluru: Home Minister M B Patil has said that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had asked for an extended report regarding the salary hike of the Police, Prison, Fire and Emergency service departments and that a decision would soon be taken regarding the same after discussing with the Finance Department.

A committee headed by senior IPS officer Raghavendra Auradkar, had submitted a panel report to the government in 2016, recommending increase in salary to the police personnel. However, the government had not taken any decision regarding Auradkar Committee Report thus far.

Speaking to media after a meeting on Auradkar’s report with the chief minister, M B Patil said that the he and the departments concerned had urged HDK to increase the salary of the police personnel and also consider their promotion.

He said that HDK would soon come up with a decision on Auradkar’s report and even the Finance Department is positive about the salary hike. “The police department will get good news in 10 days,” said Patil.
