CM HDK warns police against hafta collections

Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his deputy Dr. G Parameshwara held a meeting with senior police officials on June 22 to discuss various issues, primarily the law and order situation in the state.
 
At the meeting, the CM is reported to have given strict warning to the police regarding certain issues. It is learnt that the CM has particularly warned the officers not to indulge in the corrupt practice of collecting “hafta” and to take strict action against anyone indulging in the practice.
 
He instructed the officers to carry out their assigned tasks and stop trying to change their assigned postings by using influence.
 
SPs from all the districts and senior officers participated in the meeting held at the DG/IG’s office.
