Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Rakesh, who was undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis at Antwerp University Hospital, Brussels, passed away on Saturday, July 30.
Rakesh (39) suffered multiple organ failure on Saturday. He was admitted in the hospital for a week and was battling for life according to sources.
The CM’s office had earlier given the statement that Rakesh was recovering and responding to the treatment. But one of the doctors attending Rakesh had said that Rakesh’s condition was critical.
Doctors said that Rakesh was on ventilator and also that they would comment about his condition at the end of a 48-hour observation period.
Rakesh had been to Belgium on a tour with his four other friends Shoiab, Keshav, Rohan and Chethan. He was admitted to a hospital after he fell ill suddenly and was admitted to the Intensive care unit (ICU) of the university hospital at Brussels.
