CM slams BJP for ‘no real development’

At a programme held in the afternoon in Kothnur, CM Siddaramaiah said that “no real development happened when BJP was in power.”

He added that his government was focused on solving the garbage problem. He claimed that the State government had solved the Mandur crisis and had now turned its attention to Doddaballapur.

He urged citizens to segregate waste at source, adding that an amount of Rs. 250 crore had been earmarked for desilting strom-water drains.

Meanwhile, Minister Ramalinga Reddy said that Rs. 460 crore had been sanctioned to develop and asphalt major roads in the city. The work to be executed by the Public Works Department will begin on Saturday, he added.

He as well blamed the previous BJP government and BJP-headed BBMP Council for the poor state of affairs in the city, especially in old CMC and village areas on the city’s outskirts. The Congress has sanctioned several grants for drinking water and sanitation facilities in the newly-added areas of the BBMP, he added.

Home Minister K.J. George said that no other Chief Minister has focused so much on the city’s development.
