CM Siddaramaiah revisits CTR, relishes a timeless Bengaluru classic
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently took a nostalgic break from his political commitments to indulge in a cherished Bengaluru tradition—a crispy masala dosa at Central Tiffin Room (CTR), Malleshwaram.
Sharing his visit on social media, the CM posted a picture from the legendary eatery and wrote, “Amidst politics, I took some time out and went to the Central Tiffin Room in Malleshwaram, popularly known as CTR. I remembered eating dosa there years ago.”
He praised CTR for preserving its iconic taste over the years, remarking that the masala dosa still tasted just as he remembered. The CM’s visit served as a tribute to the restaurant’s unwavering consistency, a quality that has made it a culinary landmark since 1920.
CTR has remained a beloved institution in Bengaluru’s food scene for over a century, celebrated for its authentic South Indian offerings—crispy dosas, fluffy idlis, and strong filter coffee. Its enduring popularity recently led to the launch of a new outlet at Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2, allowing even more people to enjoy its timeless flavors.
The airport branch has received enthusiastic reviews, with Bengaluru Airport COO Satyaki Raghunath sharing his joy on X, reminiscing about childhood memories in Malleshwaram and calling his first Benne Masala Dosa at the airport “delicious.”
Siddaramaiah’s visit reminded Bengalureans of the emotional connection they share with food that stays true to its roots—unchanged, loved, and legendary.
