Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah dismissed predictions of his government’s collapse, stating that the BJP and JD(S) are in an illusion. Responding to former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s statement about the government’s potential collapse after the next Lok Sabha elections, Siddaramaiah accused the opposition parties of struggling and being in a state of illusion.

“BJP and JD(S) are struggling like fish out of water; they are in a state of illusion, what to do?” Siddaramaiah told reporters in Belagavi responding to a question on Kumaraswamy’s statement that the government will collapse.

Kumaraswamy had alleged that a senior minister in the Congress government was in talks with BJP leaders to switch parties with at least 50 MLAs.

Siddaramaiah emphasized that his government is ready to address all issues raised by the opposition and denied any lack of coordination within the BJP, stating that there are multiple groups within the party. Regarding the demand to remove the portrait of Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar from the assembly chamber, Siddaramaiah said it’s a matter concerning the Speaker, and the government will respond to all issues raised by the opposition. He also mentioned discussing the drought situation and responding to issues related to the north Karnataka region in the upcoming sessions.
