Bengaluru: After numerous protests from the Opposition including BJP and JD(S) accusing the State government of ignoring the drought-hit north Karnataka, the chief minister will tour the drought-hit districts in north Karnataka from April 15.
Said to be the worst drought in the four decades, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be visiting Bidar and Kalaburagi on April 15 and Raichur and Yadgir on April 16 in the first phase of his tour.
The second phase of the tour will begin on April 18. The chief minister plans to cover as many as 12 districts including Ballari, Koppal, Belagavi, Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Gadag, Haveri and Dharwad in all.
Sources said that the chief minster will first hold a meeting on drought relief at the district headquarters. He will then visit two most-affected taluks in each district and interact with the people.
