Bengaluru: The much-awaited white topping of several major roads in the city will be formally put to action to give a new look to the city with the formal inauguration of major works by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah tentatively on October 9.
Bangalore Development Minister K J George on Tuesday held a meeting with officials regarding traffic management and developmental activities in the city.
The minister reviewed various road works taken up in the city under Nagarothana and directed officials to complete ongoing works at the earliest. He has also instructed the Bruhat Bengaluru Manahagara Palike (BBMP) officials to take up filling up of potholes across the city and complete the work within a week by putting “Python” machines into service.
He noted the delay in asphalting a road near Kino Theatre and instructed the officials to take up asphalting immediately.
Top officials of the government including the Urban Development Additional Chief Secretary Mahendra Jain, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director Pradeep Singh Karola, Bangalore Development Authority Commissioner Rakesh Singh, BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shri R Hitendra attended the meeting.
Inspection
Bangalore Development Minister K J George today inspected various ongoing developmental works in Basavanagudi Assembly Constituency.
The minister went on a padayatra in some areas and inspected storm water drain works near Srinagar bus stand and instructed officials to clear two unauthorised huts nearby. He ordered desilting at Marihalla storm water drain.
He also announced Rs 10 crore for various developmental activities in the constituency.
